If your company is using Single Sign On (SSO), advanced password control will be configured through your identity provider. Please contact your IT Administrator.

A Firmex site administrator can enable advanced password control for all of a site’s users.

If a user has access to multiple sites and one of them requires advanced password control, advanced password control will be required for all the sites the user has access to and the most restrictive requirements will be enforced.

To modify these settings within a site, click your site’s logo, then click the Settings > Options tab.

To enable the settings, place a checkmark in the Enable Advanced Password Control checkbox. Then, place a checkmark in the following boxes to enable the advanced password controls:

  • Force passwords to expire in _ days
    Forces a user’s password to expire in 30, 60, 90, or 120 days.
  • Passwords cannot be same as previous _ used
Forces a user to select a password that he has not used in the last 3, 4, 5, or 6 password changes.
Note: This option can only be enabled if the previous checkbox – password expires in _ days – is enabled.
  • Lock out current password after _ wrong attempts
Locks out the user after 3, 4, 5, or 6 unsuccessful log in attempts. The locked-out user, as well as the site’s administrators, will be notified via email. To unlock the user’s account, the user’s password must be reset.

Click Save Changes to save your changes.
