Document Protection screen
The Document Protection screen displays and lets you control document protection options for your entire project. For specific document protection settings, please review the Document Protection options article.
- Enable document protection for PDF documents: Select this checkbox to apply Firmex's document protection options to PDF documents. If this box is unchecked, Firmex's document protection options will not protect PDF documents.
- Enable document protection for Office documents: Select this checkbox to apply document protection options to Office documents (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). If this box is unchecked, Firmex's document protection options will not protect Office documents.

Enable Firmex Viewer: Select this checkbox to have documents opened in the Firmex Viewer by default. If this box is unchecked, documents will be downloaded by default.
Note: Even if the Firmex Viewer is enabled, document protection options may still apply (e.g. document may be prevented from being saved, printed, or opened). - Encrypted Downloads: If enabled, document protection options will not apply to encrypted documents. If this box is unchecked, encrypted documents may not be downloaded. To view a list of encrypted documents, see the Export Access Report. Project Managers and Administrators can also use the ‘Encrypted Documents’ Quick View in the Documents tab to instantly identify encrypted files in the data room.
