What are Unassigned Users?

Unassigned Users are users that have been added to a project, but they do not belong to a group. Until they are added to a group, Unassigned Users cannot access documents and folders in a project. The Project Role and Default Content Role of Unassigned Users are Member / No Access, and cannot be changed.

Why use Unassigned Users?

  1. If you are adding users to a project, but do not yet know which group to assign the users to, add them to Unassigned Users.
  2. If you are importing users from a spreadsheet, but do not want to break-up the spreadsheet into groups, add all of the users as Unassigned Users, and then move the users to the correct group.
