How to Hide Formulas in Excel Files
If you’d like to hide the formulas, you can use the following steps in Microsoft Excel before uploading the document into Firmex:
- Select the range of cells whose formulas you want to hide. You can also select nonadjacent ranges or the entire sheet.
- Select Home > Format > Format Cells.
- On the Protection tab, select the Hidden check box.
- Select OK.
- On the Review tab, select Protect Sheet.
- Enter a password and click OK.
You can now upload the Excel file to Firmex, and the formulas will be hidden.
Will a password be required to open the file?
No, there is no prompt to enter a password when viewing the document. The password is only required when trying to unprotect the file in Microsoft Excel.
