Amazon Web Services Migration - Spring 2023

Have more questions? Submit a request

We’re excited to announce that we are completing our platform migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS). You might recall that we first announced our migration work when we introduced the new Firmex UI this past fall. Migrating to AWS will improve your experience in using the Firmex VDR due to the underlying technical reliability, availability and responsiveness improvements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will sites be accessible during the migration window?
A: Users will not be able to access and work in sites that are being migrated. Users will be able to access and work in any sites that are not part of the wave scheduled for migration.

Q: Can I ask for a different migration window?
A: If there is a critical reason you will need to access your site during your scheduled maintenance window and you would like to reschedule your window, we will try our best to accommodate your request. As we are unable to handle a large volume of these requests, we urge any re-scheduling requests to be made only if absolutely necessary.

Q: Why is my migration being rescheduled?
A: If you received an email stating that your maintenance window has to be rescheduled, this is because your site was not successfully migrated during your scheduled window. While we try our absolute best to avoid these scenarios, there are some instances where this may occur. Not to worry - this has no implications for any of the data hosted on your site! We’ll reach out again to let you know when your next maintenance window has been scheduled.

Q: Is document residency changing as a result of this migration?
A: No, your document residency/residencies will remain the same post-AWS migration.

Q: Is the location of non-document client data going to change as a result of this migration?
A: No. Currently, all non-document client data is located in Canada. This remains unchanged with the AWS Migration. Non-document data will be hosted in the Canada Central AWS Region.

Q: Is the location of the web-application changing?
A: No. The Firmex Web applications is currently hosted in Canada. This remains unchanged with the AWS Migration. The web-application will be hosted in the Canada Central AWS Region.

Q: Who can I contact if I have more questions?
A: Your site’s main contact has received advanced notice of this additional planned maintenance window. Please reach out to them for any questions or concerns. If you still have more questions, please feel free to reach out to your Success Manager or our 24/7 Support team.
